Gina and Matt’s Art Gallery Soiree

May 5th, 2011

This adorable wedding in Monterey has something for everyone- gorgeous beach view ceremony, beautiful outdoor gardens for dancing, chandelier studded dinner space and fun original art. I am especially loving the sweet vintage style wraps on the bride and her maids and the vibrant pops of color. Oh yea, and have I mentioned that I also have a pug? Because I am LOVING their pug who acts as ring bearer- he almost steals the spotlight from this lovely bride.

Gina and Matt’s first weekend trip was to Monterey, CA. On that trip, they drove 17 Mile Drive and stopped at each mile marker to take photos. They were able to recreate this photo experience on their wedding day after choosing Lover’s Point for the ceremony, located near mile marker 1. This wedding, beautifully captured by the fabulous Janae Shields, is chock full of personal details and handmade loveliness.

DIY Projects and Details:

Clothing: Gina’s mother’s store, B.Stella custom made Dodger the pug’s handsome suit as well as Gina and her bridesmaids gorgeous wraps! She even designed and made the adorable short dress that Gina wore to boogie the night away

Something Borrowed: The bride wore jewelry that her grandfather gave to her grandmother on their first anniversary

Guestbook: Gina loves mail, so her and Matt had guests write them notes on Monterey postcards and her mother spent their first year of marriage mailing them to them. Once they all arrived, Gina created a book out of them

Paper: All of the invitations, table numbers and programs were created by a close friend of the bride’s

Ceremony Painting: Gina and Matt hired an artist to paint the wedding ceremony. This was displayed at the art gallery reception and is now hanging in their home

Signature Drink: Sam Adam’s Oktoberfest which they had on their first date. Because it is a seasonal brew, they stocked up in October and saved it for the wedding!

Rain or Shine: The couple did not have a back-up plan for their ceremony, so they provided umbrellas and pashminas to their guests in case of bad weather. They wrote a poem that was included with each pashmina explaining the gift
