Dan and Bethany met at work. Considering they work at Pixar, it should be no surprise to us that this duo is CRAZY creative, not to mention no slouch in the graphic arts department. I am completely enamored with their fantastic post wedding website which they created with Stephen Hughes’ gorgeous photos from the wedding, recipes for the treats they shared on their special day, and the CD tracks that commemorate their special day.
DIY Projects and Details:
Decor: The bride and her mother gathered and bought antique bottle to use as flower vases, vintage coffee cans to hold snacks, whimsical salt and pepper shakers and two foot tall farm milking cans to add atmosphere to the event and give it a vintage feel.
Ceremony: The couple was married by one of their best friends who was able to incorporate their personal feels about marriage and life, and create a special and unique ceremony that really spoke to their relationship.
Music: The couple DJ’d their own wedding, spending months creating the perfect playlist, and then choosing their favorite selections to create a CD for their guests which was given as a favor in handmade wrappers.
Venue: The groom suggested The Farm on Putah Creek, a place where the couple had gone for a picnic and concert venue. The site was flexible to their needs, beautiful, and the site fee goes towards its non-profit organization, Center for Land-Based Learning!
Food: The bride made spiced walnuts for guests to nibble on, friends of the couple baked the cakes served for dessert.
Bar: Drinks were handled in a casual manner, in line with the rest of the event- home brew beer, homemade mojito punch, and a make-your-own-Manhattan Bar- in celebration of the grooms favorite cocktail.
