I hope you have your morning cup o’ joe in hand, a snuggly pair of slippers on your feet, and your heart strings ready, because this Holman Ranch Wedding shot by the amazing Tanja Lippert, needs you to spend some time with it. There is so much pretty here to view, and even better so many personal touches it is a tad bit overwhelming! I hope you love it as much as i do.

DIY Projects and Details:

Manzanita Tree: A young manzanita tree was brought down the aisle in a wagon by the brides sister, brother-in-law, niece and nephew. The mothers planted some soil in the base of the tree and the fathers watered it as part of the ceremony to symbolize the strong roots of their parents marraiges and their close family ties. The tree was then planted at Holman Ranch, so it will always be there for the couple to return to.

Aisle “runner”: The brides parents collected shells from their travels, and guests from far away places also shipped shells from distant countries which were then all scattered down the aisle.

Specialty Drink: A basket of grapefruits took centerstage at the ceremony to celebrate the first cocktail that Todd ever bought Rebecca. Greyhounds were served as the specialty cocktail at the wedding.

Napkins: Instead of renting dinner napkins, Rebecca found 40 yards of fabric which a family friend, Elisa Cetera, made into napkins. They were able to take the napkins home after the wedding, and keep or gift them all so there was no waste.

Table Names: Wooden frames with photos of of Todd and Rebecca in their favorite places named with the location. These frames were gifted after the wedding to grandparents, aunts and uncles, and those who could not make the wedding

Green Planning: Homemade streamers, Haybales, and a homemade wine barrel bar, were just some of the sustainable additions at this beautiful wedding

Escort cards: The bride adores receiving and writing letters, so she passed on the feeling of joy at a personal and heartfelt note by writing each guests a wedding note of thanks.

Song: Rebecca practiced “The Way I Am” by Ingrid Michaelson for months prior to the wedding, and sang it to Todd with the band behind her as a wedding day surprise.

I just love the charm of the Presidio, with its sweeping Golden Gate views, towering tree groves and multitude of event space options. This adorable wedding, shot by the incredible Andrew Weeks, was not afraid to do things their own way. Instead of a formal wedding structure, they said their vows on the dance-floor following dinner, giving the event a cozy and casual vibe.

Pie Station: The couple ordered pies in leui of cake from the wonderful Mission Pies, which is located just a few short blocks from their first San Francisco apartment together

Candle Lighting: During their dinner, each guest was given a candle to light in support of the union, the whole room glowed with the love and support of their friends and family

Ceremony: As the vows were exchanged following dinner, the bride’s father walked her into the cocktail reception to her groom, where they made their welcome speech and thanked their guests

Is there a more beautiful city hall anywhere than the glorious San Francisco City Hall? If there is, I have never seen it. San Franciscans are so lucky to have this fabulous elopement option available to them. Anna and Cooper’s gorgeous and intimate nuptials have all of the stuff that makes a wedding ceremony sparkle with sweetness… a man in uniform, a soft vintage feel, and the fabulous Janae Shields capturing it all.

If I wasn’t so completely aware of the magic that is Nestldown (and the obvious magic that is Delbarr Moradi’s photography- GORGEOUS!) I would swear up and down that this wedding had stepped right off the pages of Hans Christian Anderson. It is so magical, and the dense fog and rain only make it more like a fairy tale.

I think this wedding might be my favorite wedding of all time. Big talk right? But seriously. I love the soft palette of pastels, the mixture of patterns and textures, and the candlelight all coming together to create a perfect backyard atmosphere. I love the long table stretched underneath a canopy of trees, and the twinkling white lights. I love the homemade banners and quilts. It is all SO pretty. This wedding is so creative and so gorgeous, what else is there really to say? This Modern Romance captured the beauty of this sweet fete so perfectly, and I am so happy to share it with all of you wedding enthusiasts out there!

Venue: The wedding took place at Bethany’s childhood home in Escondito

Quilts: The quilts that were used in many aspects of the day were all hand sewn by Bethany’s mother

Banners: The couple made many banners using vintage ribbon and lovely patterned fabrics in pastel prints that say things like “eat, drink and be married” and “celebrate”

Wedding Gown: Bethany had her dress hand made for her by a retailer on Etsy

Guest Book: A vintage typewriter was displayed during cocktail hour for guests to type notes to the happy couple

Dessert Station: Lemon bars and organic banana cake added to the homemade feel of the wedding

I love the idea of dressing up in a fab dress, throwing a tux on your fella and heading out with no plans in mind. That is just how this couple styled their engagement shots with the fabulous Janae Shields- Virginia took her party dress out on the town and to nowhere in particular…the laundromat, a cafe, the park. They even watered plants at a nearby hotel. What a fun idea…no wonder their gorgeous DIY wedding, which took place at Trocadero Clubhouse, made it into Style Me Pretty

One of the most special parts of weddings, to me, is the joining together of two families. I adore the way Adrienne and Todd really focused on their loved ones in all of their wedding details. Adrienne and Todd were married by the friend who introduced them- what a sweet and personal touch! Their dinner was made special by family style service allowing all of their guests to share and interact. This wedding showcases all that is special about a backyard wedding, and wowee, what a beautiful backyard it is!

DIY Projects and Details:

Desserts: S’more kits were given to guests to use in the backyard fire-pit. Adrienne’s favorite childhood desserts were baked by the caterer for a personalized dessert station. Coffee milkshakes were tray-passed after dinner, a nod to a childhood tradition in Adrienne’s family.

Favors: Adrienne and Todd love hiking and used personalized climbing carabineers for the escort cards

Signature Drink: The “Spring Fizz” from the El Dorado Kitchen in Sonoma was a favorite of Adrienne and Todd’s so they borrowed it for their festivities.

Vows: Todd’s children were incorporated in the ceremony so it was truly a joining of the family
